What You Need to Know About Madison AL Storage

Thursday, February 27th, 2014

Madison AL storageSelf storage units are great when you need more space. Instead of selling off your belongings, try renting a self storage unit. Self storage units can be very useful when you are moving from house to house. Some people have to wait weeks before moving into their new place, which is why storage is a great option in the meantime.

Storage units come in all different sizes, so you can pick the size you need for your current amount of stuff. If you can’t decide on the correct size, or if you aren’t familiar with storage unit sizing (it can get confusing at times), don’t worry, that’s why the property manager is here for to assist you! Before renting a unit, there are a couple things you might like to know. For example, never store combustible or hazardous material in a storage unit. In addition, if you don’t want to see any critters running around, never store any type of food products.

The Storage Neighbor offers at all our sites month to month leasing, surveillance on the property, 24 hour access, drive, dry inside and climate control units and parking. We are a gated facility and you pick your own code. We also offer Bader Insurance if you want to insure those extra special items your storing, which I highly recommend doing. As they say…if it’s worth storing, it’s worth insuring.

The Storage Neighbor is family oriented and we strive to make your entire Madison AL storage experience with us as welcoming as possible. Here at the Nance Road Storage Neighbor, if the coffee’s on I’ll offer you a cup. Need water during your move because of the sweltering heat? I’ll bring you a bottle. And if you just need a rest, come sit in my office, cool off, and let’s chat for a bit.

This is a no hassle facility. If you have issues going on come tell me and I’ll try to resolve it as quickly as possible. I want to make sure you’re happy while you’re here.  Let me help you with all your storage needs. I’m here from 9 to 5:30 Monday thru Friday and 9 to 5 on Saturday. So stop by and let me show you around.

Research Park Self Storage Units in Madison AL

Friday, January 31st, 2014

It has been some kind of a cold winter compared to last year. Despite the chilly temperatures, things are going well over at our Slaughter Road Research Park storage facility in the New Year. The last couple of months have been really busy, with people coming and going, preparing for the holidays, and then packing everything up again in our self storage units in Madison AL. I saw cars loaded down with Christmas trees, boxes of cherished ornaments, secret gifts, and lots of smiling faces. I think I may have even spotted Santa over at his unit double checking his list as I was leaving before Christmas :)

I look forward to having some yard sales in the spring so make sure to watch for those. You can get some really good deals and meet some really nice people too. We also have some great move-in specials to help you save a little money, because we know how costly moving can be. If you are ever in the neighborhood, stop in to our self storage units in Madison AL and say hi. I will be happy to show you around the property.

Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year from all of us at the Storage Neighbor!

Research Park Update

Things are all warm and cozy over here at the The Storage Neighbor at Research Park. Our Madison AL climate control storage units have been switched from cool to heat (not much in between down here in Alabama). I helped move out a couple of long term renters last month. One family moved into their new home they have been building for over a year. Another family has set off on a new chapter of life on the beautiful beaches of Hawaii. I will miss them but it always so rewarding to see things come together for people you have worked with for so long, I wish them the best. I hope everyone has been having a wonderful holiday season and if I can ever be of assistance I hope you will give me a call.

County Line Traffic Update

It has finally started! Construction crews broke ground near The Storage Neighbor at County Line in December starting the long process of an access and exit ramp off I-565 to County Line Road for those coming to our storage units in Madison AL from Huntsville. The project is expected to be completed by 2015. This will make it easier for people from Huntsville to get to us. Keep checking back with us and I will keep you informed of the progress as it takes place.

10 Helpful Madison AL Storage Hints

Monday, December 9th, 2013

Madison AL storage unit box

1. Protect all items you place in storage. Use bubble wrap, mover’s stretch plastic wrap, boxes, and other protective means.

2. Use pallets, skids, 2×4’s or other support to keep your boxes off the floor. Keeping boxes off the floor prevents any possible flooding damage, and keeping a plastic sheet above the raised floor could further help prevent any moisture damage.

3. Place heavy plastic or cloth sheeting (drop cloths) over your property. This will keep dust and any other buildup from accumulating on your stored items.

4. Place Damp-Rid or similar moisture absorber in your Madison AL storage unit. Moisture is one of the main things to guard against inside a storage unit!

5. Pack electronics in the rear of the unit. This can further protect them from damage up front.

6. Pack glass items in protective packaging. Mark these packages “FRAGILE” for extra precaution.

7. Do not store valuables in your Madison AL storage unit (i.e. jewelry, furs, money, etc). These should be taken to safe deposit boxes at a bank or other higher security places.

8. Do not store flammable items or open food items. Both of these are recipes for disaster, either starting  a fire or going rotten and causing terrible odors and attracting pests.

9. Place mouse traps or rat poison in the storage unit if it does not already contain it. Many storage unit areas already have these in place. Check with your local storage facility manager.

10. Use disc locks to secure your storage unit. They are the safest and most secure locks available. Your belongings are worth it!

Hope these tips help with your storage process in Madison AL. Happy storing!

Improved Storage in Madison AL: I-565 Interchange, More Climate Control

Tuesday, December 3rd, 2013

Hi Friends and Neighbors,

It has been a pretty good month at our Research Park storage facility. The cool weather has made it much easier for new tenants moving in and the fall colors are just lovely. Our new climate control building is filling up quickly and everyone seems to like the convenience of being able to drive right up to the doors and not have to haul all their things down a long hallway to store them.

In news around our County Line storage facility, the long-awaited new interchange between County Line Road and I-565 in Madison has just broken ground today. Governor Robert Bentley joined other state and local officials for a groundbreaking ceremony this afternoon. This is great news for the people of Madison who need to get to Huntsville and Research Park. The new interchange will add two looping ramps, one from I-565 westbound to County Line Road, the other from County Line Road to the interstate eastbound. The project will provide a new access for drivers traveling to and from I-565 to Madison Boulevard and County Line Road.

We are all looking forward to the fast approaching holidays and spending a little more time with our friends and family. If you need a little extra space for entertaining, or if Santa needs a good place to hide some things away until the big day, please come on by and we can get you into exactly the unit you need.

See you soon!
